April Break Camp:  March 30 - April 3, 2015

Camp will take place Monday, March 30 - Friday, April 3 at Camp Arrowhead.  Our day will run from 7:00am - 6:00pm for children age 3- to entering grade 8. Throughout the week, campers have the option to be involved in a variety of different activities.  With our theme of “Summer, it’s Around the Corner…” campers will get a taste of what we have in store for the first five weeks of summer.  A different theme each day will have you wanting to return this summer for more!

Registration now open via online or by paper registration. (please note the online link will lead you to the summer camp registration, this is correct.  Select Arrowhead, and Spring Camp will be at the top of the selections.  You may also register for Summer Camp at the same time!)


Monday, March 30

COLOR WARS…Red, Yellow, Green & Blue, who will win?
We will divide into the four colors and compete in tasks to see what team is the Color Wars champions!  Campers should bring a white t-shirt because we will be tye-dying! 

Tuesday, March 31

WATER WORLD…An Ode to Shark Week
We will make paper plate Jaws,  overboard “sushi”, and of course play the epic game of “sharks and minnows” among many other games.

Wednesday, April 1

PIRATES OF THE CREEK…The Mystery of the Sunken Treasure
We will go on a treasure hunt throughout camp until we discover the TREASURE!  We will play some Pirate BINGO, pick Pirate names and make some foil boats to sail in the creek.

Thursday, April 2

SUPER HERO…Superhero Training in Progress
Create a superhero that represents who you are!  We will compete in an obstacle course that will test some typical Superhero Powers!  

Friday, April 3

Stay in your PJ’s and roll right out of bed or wear your clothes backwards to enjoy this day.  We will create some new cheers/chants that will practiced all day then preformed on the Bounce Pillow!

Each day, campers should come prepared for outdoor activities, although there is plenty of indoor space we will be using throughout the day.  Traditional camp activities are weather-dependent but are also planned through the week (climbing and teambuilding, archery, hiking, outdoor sport games, nature, low ropes etc.)  Please be sure to dress/pack for the weather.
Campers should bring a non re-heat lunch.  An afternoon snack is provided and a light breakfast/snack will be provided to those registered for AM Care.




Wednesday, April 1:  Lobby Giveaway and Info Day

9:30-11:30am (at Southeast YMCA)
Join us in the lobby and spin the GIANT wheel for prizes, pick up a FREE camp craft giveaway and gather information on Camp Arrowhead.

Friday, April 10:  Camp Night at Southeast Family YMCA

6:00-8:00pm (at Southeast YMCA)
Join us and learn about all the options you have for the up coming summer!  Representatives from Camp Arrowhead, camp Southeast, Preschool Camp, Sports Camp, Camp Cory & Camp Gorham will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.  Gaga, Archery, Games, Snack and more!  No RSVP needed.  More information here

Tuesday, April 21:  Camp Information Night

6:30 pm (at Camp Arrowhead)
    We invite the parents to attend an informational presentation about Camp Arrowhead starting at 6:30pm.  We will go over a typical day, activities we offer and leave time at the end for question and answer.  Please feel free to bring your “future” camper with you to learn more about what we have to offer or we will offer care if they choose not to participate in the information night.  FREE to members and non-members wanting to learn more about summer camp! Please RSVP for this event at rochesterymca.org/ah-info-session.


Sunday, May 3, 2015:  Mother's Day Pancake Breakfast

9:00am-Noon (at Camp Arrowhead)
Join us to celebrate Mother's Day in the best way- family fun! Enjoy pancakes from 9 ‘til noon, and tackle adventures as a family– test your archery skills, try out our climbing tower, work on Mother's Day inspired crafts, and go head to head with other families in Minute to Win it style challenges.  Click to register online or download the paper registration.

Wednesday, May 13:  Open Bounce Pillow and Information Day

4:30-6:30pm (at Camp Arrowhead)
    The Bounce Pillow will be open for all to enjoy!  While the kids bounce, the parents can learn more about the summer camp.  We will have staff on hand for tours and questions.
   *weather permitting; Pillow cannot be used in the rain.

Saturdays, May 2 and May 30:  Camp Open House and Tours 

10:00am-12:00pm (at Camp Arrowhead)
    Get ready for some fun as we open Camp for ALL!  The Archery Range and Climbing Tower will be open, as well as our Bounce Pillow. Staff will be on hand to give tours and answer questions. No RSVP needed, open and FREE for all to see what we have to offer.

Saturday, June 27:  Pancake Social and Staff Meet & Greet 

9:00-11:00am (at Camp Arrowhead)
    We invite all registered campers and future prospects to join us in the fun!  Meet ALL the camp staff, climb the Tower, tour camp and enjoy a FREE Pancake Social – candy, syrup, and whip cream are just a few of the items we will have for you to add to your giant pancake!
