Active Older Adults

At the Carlson MetroCenter Branch, seniors stay active, get involved, and gain a sense of belonging. Whether it’s joining a social club, taking a class, engaging in a fitness training program or participating in special events like senior camping, the Carlson MetroCenter Y provides seniors with opportunities to meet people and try new things. Aquatics
Aquatics programs at the Carlson MetroCenter Branch include parent-child, preschool and Active Older Adult classes along with swimming lessons for all ages and abilities. Birthday Parties
Celebrate your child’s birthday at the Carlson MetroCenter YMCA! Sit back and relax as your child enjoys a memorable birthday celebration led by our trained party staff. Licensed Child Care
The Carlson MetroCenter Child Care Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Our center offers a variety of full-time programs, which serve children ages 6 weeks to 4 years. Each program offers enriching activities in a fun environment with caring and professional staff. Programs include: Infant Care, Toddlers, Preschool, Universal Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten Readiness and School Age Child Care (SACC). Health, Well-Being & Fitness Training Programs
Whether you are new to health and fitness or have been active your entire life, the Y can help you move toward a healthier, happier and more balanced life. In our athletic club, you can examine nutrition, weight management, personal fitness, stress reduction, the role of community support and more. Our certified coaches, instructors and personal trainers can help you identify what's most important to you and how to achieve success.
 
Health, Well-Being and Fitness programs at the Carlson YMCA are geared toward all ages and all levels of activity including Youth, Teens, Adults, Seniors (senior-specific Personal Training available) and Families. Programs include Wellness Programs, Group Exercise and Nutrition Counseling. We also have specialized staff members and programs available to help you achieve your fitness goals, such as Personal Trainers and our Speed Power Agility program. Group Exercise Class Orientations: come to a 30 minute overview of the Group Exercise Classes offered at the Carlson MetroCenter YMCA. In this one-on-one session you'll learn what each class has to offer and what classes may work best to help you meet your personal fitness goals, abilities and interests. Attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions and find out what classes may go with each other and with other workout routines. This FREE orientation is informative for beginner, intermediate and advanced exercisers.

S.P.A. - Speed, Power & Agility
Saturday mornings from 10:30-11:30am, $30 for members & $50 for non-members.  Join us each week for an hour of strength training, drills and exercises designed to improve speed, power and agility for individuals looking to improve or gain a competitive edge in sports related activities. Participants will have access to specialized equipment and to expert staff with an emphasis on improving athletic performance. You will get the tools to go from good to great on your field of play. Pace Go 4 Fitness Challenge
Fitness is Fun and we want all youth to participate in activities that promote activity, wellness and fun.  We partner with local business, agencies, organizations and sports teams including the Rochester Red Wings, Rochester RazorSharks, and Rochester Lancers to bring fun and fitness to everyone not just the athletes.  There is fun in fitness in all kinds of activities, sports and games. Click here to learn more and to register online.

Summer Camp
Camp Carlson operates out of the Carlson MetroCenter YMCA with the daily site at Ellison Park offering fields, trails and a playground. We serve children in starting in kindergarten through grade 6. Exciting weekly field trips make the summer experience memorable for campers. The Carlson MetroCenter Y also offers summer leadership programs for pre-teens and teens ages 9 through 15.
