Active Older Adults
At the Maplewood Family Branch, seniors stay active, get involved, and gain a sense of belonging. Whether it’s joining a social club, taking a class or participating in special events like senior camping, the Maplewood Y provides seniors with opportunities to meet people and try new things. Designed for individuals 55 years and older, SilverSneakers and Water Fitness classes are offered, as well as variety of activities and outings. Aquatics
Aquatics programs at the Maplewood Family Branch include parent-child, preschool and Active Older Adult classes along with swimming lessons for all ages and abilities. The Maplewood Y also offers a youth competitive swim team program as well as lifeguard, swim instructor, First Aid and CPR training. For more information, please contact Karen Kunow at 277-1659. The Maplewood Family YMCA offers before and after school care for kids in grades K-5. Highly trained and energetic staff will engage your children in activities including physical activities, arts and crafts, homework, structured play and a healthy snack. We also offer other excellent school year program for your school age children including Kindergarten Wrap Around and Fun Clubs. Sports
Youth T-Ball Program (ages 4-10)
This program is designed to teach young beginners how to swing with proper technique of the swing of the bat. Key elements of the program include education on health, character development traits (caring, honesty, respect, responsibility). Each week they will learn basic: fielding, throwing, catching, hitting, and then progress into games.
Youth Soccer Open Play in-house League (ages 10-15)
The program is for boys & girls and is designed to give youths the opportunity to engage in a competitive, instructional games program that teaches the basic skills and rules of soccer. Each week we will be working on foot dribbling, passing, kicking, goal keeping, strategy plays, and positions.
Association Track & Field Program (ages 6-12)
This Program “Team Urban Legends” is for young athletes who love to run. The program emphasizes on proper stretching, individual growth, strength, and speed. Key elements of the program include education on health, hydration and getting in shape. Each week we will be working on: long jump, disc throw, shot put, 200/400-meter relay race, and also individual 50/100/200-meter race. In addition, we welcome volunteer coaches to help assist with each level.
NFL Flag-Football Travel League (ages 7-15)
This League is for boys and girls ages 7 through 12. The program emphasizes on team work, individual growth, strength and speed. Each week we will be working on passing, catching, punting, strategy plays, and positions. Games will be played on Sunday afternoons. We will be competing against the other urban Y branches in weekly games, followed by an association-wide tournament at the end of the season. Practices will be held the first two weeks of the program, followed by seven weeks of travel games.
Youth Outdoor Tennis Instructional Program (ages 4-15)
This program is designed to teach beginners, intermediate and advance level how to swing with proper technique of the tennis strokes. Each week they will learn the basic tennis strokes: forehand, backhand, volleys, overheads, serves and also progress into games with score keeping. We will provide all necessary equipment for class: tennis balls and racquets all sizes.

Maplewood Family YMCA is offering a soccer instructional program for girls and boys. The program is designed to give youths the opportunity to engage in a competitive, instructional games program that teaches the basic skills and rules of soccer. YMCA Love-15 Summer Tennis Camp
The YMCA of Greater Rochester offers a free tennis instructional program for Rochester City youth. The program is designed to teach the basic tennis skills, rules of tennis, life skills, and positive values. The program runs for 6 weeks long, Monday through Friday. During the first weeks players will practice fundamentals and skill development activities toward tennis matches and mini tournaments. We will provide water, racquets all sizes, reading materials during water breaks and balls during class time.

Teens
Teen Center: Need a place to make friends, have fun, and just hang out? The Maplewood Y Teen Center is the place for kids ages 12-17. Designed with teens in mind, you can enjoy Xbox, pool and many other great activities!
Teen Nights: Open to 12-17 year olds, the gym is completely dedicated to teens!
Fun/Fit Zone: Check out our Fun/Fit Zone designed for children 7-13 years old who can participate in activities that will keep them on the go in a fun, non-intimidating environment. Exercise will seem like play and you will earn points toward cool “Y” prizes.
