Sports
The Monroe Y is committed to providing a fun, educational first sports experience for your child. Our Iddy Biddy Sports program introduces children to the games, rules and fundamental skills for sports such as soccer, basketball and floor hockey. Our program also concentrates on teaching sportsmanship, positive competition and building positive relation-ships between participants. The YMCA core values (Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility) and nutrition are discussed at every class with time.
Teens
Leaders Club: The Monroe Leaders Club is a unique program designed to help teens (grades 7-12) develop their personal values through community service, leadership and teambuilding. Teens can participate in fundraising, volunteering, social activities, event planning, teen nights, and overnights. Leaders Clubs are held at YMCA’s across the country and our members will have opportunities to meet club members from across the Northeast region at weekend Teen Rallies and summer Leaders School.
Jr. Leaders Club: Based on our popular leaders club, the Junior Leaders Club will meet once a week to do fun activities and games, learn about responsibility, community service and values, and learn some of the many Leader’s Club traditions! Jr. Leaders Club members can attend the Upstate New York Teen Rally at Camp Gorham in May.
Teen City: Monday, Wednesday, Friday | 2:00-5:00pm
Teen Sports Night: Every Friday of each month, teens will meet at the YMCA and play pickup sports from 6:00-8:00pm. Sports may include kickball, hockey, soccer, basketball, or handball in the Monroe gym.
Teen Basketball: Pickup games on Mondays | 6:00-9:30pm
