Iddy Biddy Sports (3-5 years old)
The Southeast Y is committed to providing a fun, educational first sports experience for your child. Our Iddy Biddy Sports program introduces children to the games, rules, and fundamental skills for a variety of popular sports. Our programs also concentrate on teaching sportsmanship, positive competition, and building positive relationships between participants. The Y core values (Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility) and nutrition are discussed at every class with time provided for parents to interact with their children.
Leaders Club: The Teen Leaders Club is a unique program designed to provide teens (grades 9-12) with the opportunity to engage in Y volunteer service projects. Throughout the Northeast region of the country, teens attend numerous rallies where the focus is on character development and leadership skills. Learning about the community, meeting new people, helping others, and growing personally are the cornerstones of the Southeast Family YMCA Teen Leaders Club.
Jr. Leaders Club: Junior Leaders Club is a brand new program designed for students in grades 6-8. Junior leaders may serve as a volunteer at the Y, attend the Upstate New York Teen Rally in May at YMCA Camp Gorham, attend social leadership development events, and will develop teamwork skills and clarify values through fun games and activities.
Volunteer Internship Program: This program offers an opportunity for teens between the ages of 12-15 to volunteer in a specific department of the Southeast Family YMCA. Participants (V.I.P.s) get to pick the YMCA department in which they would like to volunteer, shadow a staff person and actively use what they learn with hands-on experiences. Registration for summer 2016 is open now.
Tween Activities Group: Get the most out of your child's youth membership. Sign them in to T.A.G. and they will be allowed to use the Adventure Center, shoot baskets in the gym, swim, or play in the Prime Time room. All activity areas will be supervised by T.A.G. staff. Swimming is available on Wednesdays 6:30-7:30pm. T.A.G. is a member benefit program.
