Programs at Southeast
Active Older Adults
At the Southeast Family Branch, seniors stay active, get involved, and gain a sense of belonging. Whether it’s joining a social club, taking a class or participating in special events like senior camping, the Southeast Y provides seniors with opportunities to meet people and try new things. Designed for individuals 55 years and older, SilverSneakers and Water Fitness classes are offered, as well as variety of activities and outings. Aquatics
Aquatics programs at the Southeast Family Branch include parent-child, preschool and Active Older Adult classes along with swimming lessons for all ages and abilities. The Southeast Y also offers a youth competitive swim team program as well as lifeguard, swim instructor, First Aid and CPR training. For more information, please contact Terri Beneway at 341-3238.
Sharks Competitive Swim Team: Coaches work to perfect strokes, starts, turns, finishes and extensive work on endurance. Competitive swim meets are held with other YMCA teams on Saturdays during the fall and winter months. For more information, please contact Patrick Cramer at 341-4004. Rochester Dolphins Synchronized Swimming Club: Girls 8-18 compete in various age groups, swimming solos, duets, trios, and team performances. Practices take place at both the Southeast Y and The Harley School. The team competes in meets located in Buffalo, Oswego, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Birthday Parties
Celebrate your child's birthday at the Southeast Family YMCA or Camp Arrowhead! Sit back and relax as your child enjoys a memorable birthday celebration led by our trained party staff. Health, Well-Being and Fitness
Whether you are new to health and fitness or have been active your entire life, the Y can help you move toward a healthier, happier and more balanced life. At the Southeast Y, you can examine nutrition, weight management, stress reduction, the role of community support and more. Our certified coaches and instructors can help you identify what's most important to you and how to achieve success.
Health, Well-Being and Fitness programs at the Southeast Family YMCA are geared toward all ages and all levels of activity including Youth, Teens, Adults, Seniors and Families. Programs include Wellness Programs, Group Exercise, Nutrition Counseling and Massage Therapy. We also have specialized staff members available to help you achieve your fitness goals, such as Personal Trainers. Sports
Teens
Jr. Leaders Club: A brand new program designed for 6-8 grade students. Serve as a volunteer at the Y. Develop teamwork skills and clarify values through fun games and activities. Attend the Upstate New York Teen Rally in May at YMCA Camp Gorham. Attend social leadership development event.
Volunteer Internship Program: This program offers an opportunity for teens between the ages of 12-15 to volunteer in a specific department of the Southeast Family YMCA. Participants (V.I.P.’s) get to pick which department of the YMCA that they would like to volunteer in, shadow a staff person and actively use what they learn with hands-on experiences. Registration for summer 2013 begins April 1.

Tween Activities Group: Get the most out of your youth membership. Sign in to T.A.G. and you will be allowed to use the Adventure Center, shoot baskets in the gym, go swimming or play in the Prime Time room. All activity areas will be supervised by T.A.G. staff. Swimming available Monday-Wednesday 6:30-7:30. Member Benefit program.
