Universal Pre-Kindergarten is a program for children four years of age by December 1, 2012 and entering Kindergarten the following year. The UPK program is run in conjunction with the Rochester City School District guidelines. The high-scope curriculum is utilized in the Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program to aid in the child’s preparation for Kindergarten. The High Scope Curriculum provides a plan-do-review approach. The plan-do-review approach is combined with fun, values-based activities taught by a New York State certified teacher. Parents may choose a full day option with ongoing care during regular child care hours.
