Active Older Adults

The YMCA of Greater Rochester offers fitness programs for older adults like water exercise, yoga and stretching classes, and walking clubs. We also sponsor several activities to encourage older adults to take action and get involved. Learn more.

Birthday Parties

A birthday party at the YMCA of Greater Rochester is a great way for newborns, children, teens, adults, and seniors to celebrate their special day and create lasting memories with family and friends. Diabetes Prevention

The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program can decrease the number of new type 2 diabetes cases by more than half and give individuals at high risk for developing the disease tools for healthy living. Learn more.


LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is designed for adult cancer survivors who have recently become de-conditioned or chronically fatigued from their treatment or disease. The small group, physical activity program utilizes a private, non-intimidating circuit style that helps participants build strength, increase flexibility and endurance and ultimately improve quality of life.  Learn more.

Military Outreach

We understand that military families are under enormous strain. As a member of the Y, you and your family can spend quality time together and enjoy fun activities in a warm, supportive environment. Youth sports classes and leagues are co-ed and available at the YMCA for 4-12 year olds. The YMCA offers multi-sport camps as well as specialized instruction and structured league play for more than 20 assorted sports, from soccer and floor hockey to karate and track and field. Learn more.
Child Parent Swim Lessons

Swim Lessons and Classes

The Y has been teaching people to swim for more than a century. The swim lessons and swim classes offered by the YMCA of Greater Rochester Aquatics Programs include parent-child and preschool classes, and swimming lessons for all ages and abilities. We also offer youth competitive swim team programs, as well as lifeguard, swim instructor, First Aid, and CPR training. Learn more
