Schottland Family Branch Open House

Come tour, learn more about all that is inside

Over two years ago, the YMCA of Greater Rochester was given the green light to start building what would become the Schottland Family Branch. Ground was broken on the project 483 days ago. Now, the Y is ready to welcome members and the community into the 140,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility.

The Schottland Family Y was designed with everyone in mind, offering an array of programs and services to help achieve the mission of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. On Sunday, September 29, the YMCA is welcoming everyone out to a Community Open House.

The Next Generation YMCA is Now

Guided tours will be offered throughout the day, given by staff that you will come to know at the branch. Visitors can speak with staff from each space of the branch, learning more about equipment, programming and all that will be offered.

Those who are already members, or join at the Open House, will be able to sign up for add on services such as towel service and massages.

There will be many new unique features at Schottland that you can try out, such as the Golf Simulator and HydroMassage.

The YMCA of Greater Rochester is a great place to have your child’s birthday. During the Open House, you’ll be able to learn all about birthday parties at Schottland.

But this day isn’t just for adults. Kids can come out to have fun climbing in the Cristman Depot, bouncing in the new school bus inflatable and get hands on with STEM activities in our Exercise Your Mind makerspace.

Doctors from the University of Rochester Medicine will be on site to show you more around their two practices that will be right inside the branch – Highland Women’s Health and Rochester Internal Medicine Associates. They will be able to answer your questions about services they offer.

If you still have not signed up for membership, or have questions about which one is right for you and your family, you can do so on site with our member services staff.
