SKALNY CHILD CARE CENTER

Located in Pittsford, attached to the Schottland Family YMCA, the Skalny Child Care Center cares for children 6 weeks-5 years. This center has a dedicated entrance into the Center, with classrooms for our different age groups, and a gross motor skills play area filled with soft play elements. Being connected to the Schottland Family YMCA, kids in the Skalny Child Care Center will be able to take part in intergenerational programming with our Active Older Adults in the Kushner Community Room, and our older kiddos will be able to take swim lessons at the Petinella Aquatic Center.

We know that you have a variety of choices for your child’s early years, and children may spend more time in early care and education programs than in the following thirteen years of school, and your choice is an important decision. Since 1854, the YMCA of Greater Rochester has served the diverse needs of our community. During your child’s time at the Y, they will:

• Develop significant relationships with children and adults

This will allow them to be successful as school children and ultimately as adults. Programs licensed by the State of New York are designed to provide each child with a variety of positive, healthy, stimulating, interesting, and educational experiences throughout each day while supporting character development through an emphasis on the five core YMCA values: caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and inclusion.

Our full day child care centers provide safe, supportive environments where children can learn through play and engagement. Our nurturing staff members implement the HighScope Curriculum and provide attentive care and encouragement for young children. As providers, our goals are to deliver a positive and rewarding experience for every child and to exceed your family’s expectations.
