Here is a list of some recommended items to pack for your time at Camp Gorham! Please keep in mind that we do not recommend bringing anything of extreme value or items of significance. Camp is a ton of fun, but things can get lost, dirty or broken.
Clothing:
- 3-5 t-shirts
- Staff shirts will be provided, but we recommend brining shirts for your time off.
- 4-6 pairs of shorts
- 1 or 2 pairs of khaki shorts for check in and check out uniform
- 2 pairs of sweatpants
- 2 sweatshirts, heavy sweaters or medium-weight jackets
- 4 pairs of jeans or long pants
- 3 pairs of wool or synthetic socks
- 14 pairs of regular socks and underwear
- 2 one-piece swim suits
- Pajamas or sleepwear
- 2 pairs of tennis shoes or sneakers
- Comfortable boots for hiking
- 1 pair pf slides, flip flops or sandals
- Baseball hat or bandana for sun protections
- Sunglasses
- May only be worn while lifeguarding
- Raingear like ponchos or rain jackets
- 1 nice outfit for closing banquet
- Collard shirt, dress pants, dress, skirt, blouse, suit & tie, etc. Outfit should fall between business casual and formal.
Toiletries:
- Toothbrush/Toothpaste
- Deodorant
- Shampoo/Conditioner/Soap
- Chapstick
- Sunscreen
- Comb/Brush
- 3 towels/washcloths
- International Staff will have the opportunity to purchase any necessary toiletries upon being picked up for camp
Additional Essentials:
- Twin bed sized blankets, sheets and pillows
- Bedding will be provided for international staff
- Sleeping bag
- Sleeping bag will be provided for international staff
- Water Bottle
- Prescription/OTC Medications (to be checked in with the Nurse or in locker)
- Backpack
- Flashlight and extra batteries
- Laundry Bag
- Laundry detergent and dryer sheets
Items That Should Be Left at Home or in Staff Lounge Lockers:
- Cell Phones
- Things you do not want to get dirty
- Items of high monetary value (Camp Cory is not responsible for lost or stolen items)
- Electronics
- Weapons (real or fake; pocket knives are allowed for select individuals with the approval of the Camp Director)
- Pets
- Illegal substances
- Money (large quantities)
Pro Tips and Other Helpful Information:
- Each staff member will be provided with a locker that will be located in the staff lounge. Locks will be provided and this will be a good place to store any valuables or important documents.
- You are welcome to bring electronics such as laptops or tablets to camp but we ask they stay locked away in the staff lounge.
- Staff are able to use the laundry facilities, but will need to provide your own detergent and dryer sheets.
Themes to Consider:
- At Camp, we tend to use themes in some of our activities and skits! Camp is the perfect opportunity to wear a pirate costume or wild west outfit. Feel free to bring any costumes or props that might be useful. Some themes include:
- Pirates
- Middle Ages
- Space
- Western
- Tie Dye
- Camouflage
- Any other theme that you can think of!
