Rochester, NY – One year ago, the YMCA of Greater Rochester opened our brand-new Association Office in the Five Star Bank Building Plaza. This move became much more than a physical relocation; it turned into a new partnership with a group who also has a commitment to building a stronger Rochester.
“When we were relocating our Association Office, it was critical for us to remain downtown,” said Ernie Lamour, President & CEO, YMCA of Greater Rochester. “We had a great opportunity to do that at the Five Star Bank Building Plaza while also partnering with an organization that believes in giving back and in the work the Y does for community. We are grateful to Benderson Development and Delta Sonic for not only believing in but supporting our mission.”
In recognition of the partnership and the YMCA’s important role in the community, Benderson Development and its family company, Delta Sonic, are making an initial $1 million donation to support the YMCA of Greater Rochester’s mission.
“Our family companies, Benderson Development and Delta Sonic, have a long history of investing in the communities we serve, and the YMCA of Greater Rochester has been making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families throughout this region for more than 170 years,” said Ron Benderdon, CEO and founder of Delta Sonic. “This donation reflects our appreciation for the partnership and supports our shared commitment to making Rochester a stronger place to live, work, stay healthy and raise a family.”
The YMCA is proud of the purposeful partnerships we have with organizations across our community, and we look forward to this new partnership for years to come.
