The unveiling of YMCA Camp Northpoint's new Camp Pavilion

Greece, NY - The YMCA of Greater Rochester is pleased to share that, thanks to support from Assemblymember Josh Jensen (134th District), YMCA Camp Northpoint has a brand-new pavilion, allowing for the opportunity to serve more families looking for childcare during the summer months.

“We know how important it is for families to have not only safe and reliable care during the summer months, but also somewhere fun for their kids to go,” said Ernie Lamour, President & CEO, YMCA of Greater Rochester. “Having the support of local leaders like Assemblymember Jensen, who sees what the Y is doing and believes in supporting our work to provide for families in our community, is critical to our work and we are grateful for his partnership.”

“Childcare is critically important to a strong local economy, and during the summer months, when families have access to safe and reliable childcare opportunities, parents and caregivers can go to work knowing their children are in good hands,” said Assemblymember Josh Jensen, 134th District. “I’m proud to partner with the YMCA of Greater Rochester to add this new pavilion at Camp Northpoint in the Town of Greece. It will give campers and staff more space throughout the summer and help the YMCA serve even more families in our community.”

YMCA Camp Northpoint has been serving the community for more than two decades, with nearly 2,500 camper weeks in 2026. The additional pavilion, built thanks to funding secured by Assemblymember Jensen, will allow the Y to provide enhanced experiences for our campers and additional shelter during rainy days at camp.
