John Denninger, 82, and Elizabeth “Ebeth” Merkel, 80, had a commitment ceremony Wednesday at Lifespan’s Lily Café in the Maplewood YMCA. The two met there and discovered things they had in common, including a love of music and dance.
So, they started going dancing, and the relationship blossomed into a romance.
