FREE PROGRAM DESIGNED TO TRAIN, HIRE NEXT GENERATION OF LIFEGUARDS
Rochester, NY – The YMCA of Greater Rochester is pleased to announce a new program intended to prepare the next generation of lifeguards. Aquatics Academy: Teen Leadership Program is a free training-to-position program, with employment opportunities for this summer and fall.
“Like many organizations, the YMCA of Greater Rochester has felt the impact of the nation-wide staffing crisis – particularly in our Aquatics,” said Sean Anne, Senior Director of Aquatics. “This new initiative will prepare the next leaders of our YMCAs and allow the YMCA to safely offer more opportunities to our members and community.”
During an eight-day course, participants will become certified in CPR, First Aid, Oxygen Administration, Lifeguarding and Swim Instruction. They will then have the opportunity to begin working at YMCAs in the greater Rochester area.
