YMCA Receives Grant to Provide Community Assistance

Grant to Provide Emergency Funding for Those in Need

Most everyone at some time in their life will struggle to make ends meet. Through a grant, the YMCA of Greater Rochester is stepping in to help. This is an exciting, new opportunity that will directly support some of the most immediate needs in our community. This grant will allow the Y to provide a one-time distribution of assistance to those in Monroe County.

How to Apply

UPDATE: Applications are no longer being accepted as the program officially closed on July 31, 2020, and all resources have been exhausted.

If you submitted an application prior to July 31, 2020, you may request an update on the status of your application.

If approved, payments will be made directly to the service provider, not to individual requester. Applicants must provide contact of service provider. The YMCA will work with the provider to arrange payment through check or credit card.

Funds will be allocated through July 31, 2020 on a first-come, first-served basis. There is one transaction per requester. Assistance is not guaranteed.

Who Can Apply

Monroe County residents, 18 years of age or older, can apply for community assistance to help with basic everyday life expenses and emergency needs.  Photo ID, proof of address and proof of income are necessary.

Staff of the YMCA of Greater Rochester can apply as long as the first two requirements are met. All requests are confidential.
